Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s March 10th:

Saturday 10th March 2018

On this day in 2018, the 58th edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. Benjamin Ingrosso took victory with “Dance You Off” and 181 points. At the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Benjamin finished 7th, with 224 points.

Saturday 10th March 2012

On this day in 2012, the 52nd edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. Loreen took victory with “Euphoria” and 268 points. At the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Loreen finished 1st, with 372 points.

Saturday 10th March 2007

On this day in 2007, the 47th edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. The Ark took victory with “The Worrying Kind” and 248 points. At the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, The Ark finished 18th, with 51 points.

Friday 10th March 2000

On this day in 2000, the 40th edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Gothenburg. Roger Pontare took victory with “When Spirits Are Calling My Name” and 227 points. At the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Roger finished 7th, with 88 points.
