RTÉ, the Irish national broadcaster, have confirmed they invited one act to participate in Eurosong 2025 – their national selection for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel.
Michael Kealy, the Irish Head of Delegation explained on RTÉ Radio’s The Ray D’Arcy Show, that one act was invited specifically to participate in Eurosong 2025. The invited act will already be known to the audience and also has an international presence. Michael Kealy had the following to say:
“As you know, over the last few years, we’ve been kind of reserving the right to sort of fast-track entries to the (Eurosong) final that we think are exceptional or they’re artists that we know well, that we feel could do well in the competition… So we have one artist that we have invited to take part in our Eurosong.”
