ARD, the German national broadcaster, have revealed the future of “Chefsache ESC – Wer singt für Deutschland?” – their national selection for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel.
Christine Strobl revealed that the partnership between ARD, RTL & Stefan Raab will only continue on the condition of a victory in Basel. Christine Strobl had the following to say:
“Our goal is and remains victory. We are not thinking about what will happen if it does not work out. I am confident that the partnership will work. Nothing less than victory justifies such a collaboration.”
Stefan Raab had the following to say:
“I’m not doing this because I want to come second or third. The national football team doesn’t say before a tournament: We want to come third. If we only come second, you can punish me afterwards.”
