
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s December 20th:
Sunday 20th December 2020
On this day in 2020, the 4th edition of the Turkvision Song Contest took place in Istanbul, Turkey. Iraqi Turkmen, Kazakh Uyghurs, Moldova, Nogai, Poland & Tyumen Oblast debuted, while Bashkortostan, Khakassia, Moscow, Tatarstan, Tuva & Yakutia all returned. Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, Syria & Uzbekistan all withdrew. Ukraine took victory with Natalie Papazoglu performing “Tikenli yol” and 226 points.
