🇳🇴 #NORWAY: Submissions Open For Sámi Grand Prix 2025; Contest To Take Place On April 12th

NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster, have opened the submission window for Sámi Grand Prix 2025. The Sámi Grand Prix has taken place annually since 1990 and has formed part of the Sámi Easter Festival, however this won’t be the case in 2025.

The Sámi Grand Prix consists of two Contests – one for new songs and one for joikers. While the Contest will still take place in Kautokeino, in 2025 it will be held on April 12th, to lessen the pressure on Kautokeino during the Sámi Easter Festival. Song submissions and rules can be found HERE – with submissions closing on November 25th.

Futhermore, Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, have revealed they will be involved in the production of the contest and will also allow their viewers to vote to determine the winner of the contest. 2025 will be the first year that SVT, NRK and YLE will all air the contest live to viewers.
