
KNR, the Greenlandic national broadcaster, held the Pan-ArcticVision Contest 2024, in Nuuk last night. Not only were there three winners, but the next host region was revealed.
Following the Contest, a total of three winners were revealed. The Contest can be viewed below in two parts. The winners were:
- The most Arctic song – Nunavut – Iva and Angu
- The song that gives the most feeling of community and togetherness – Northern Norway – Emil Kárlsen – “Čávkkus – Saukkonen – Oteren”
- The most revolutionary song – Russian Arctic Exiles – Zhenya Goman – “Pravilo dvukh sten (The rule of two walls)”
The region of Nunavut in Canada was selected to host the 2025 edition. The question “What area of the Arctic really needs a prize and deserves the chance to arrange the next edition of Pan-ArcticVision?” was put forward to an online vote. Each region had 1 to 12 points to give out. The results were:
- Russian Arctic Exiles – 12 from Sapmi, Northern Norway, Nunavut and Russian Arctic Exiles
- Nunavut – Canada – 12 from Nunavut
- Greenland – 12 from Greenland
- Iceland – 12 from Iceland
- Northern Sweden – 12 from Northern Sweden
- Northern Finland – 12 points 12 from Northern Finland
- Alaska – United States – 12 from Alaska
- Faroe Islands – 12 from Faroe Islands
