SRF, the Swiss-German national broadcaster, have chosen their representative for the 2024 Eurovision Young Musicians, in Bodø.

Valerian Alfaré, a Euphonium player, has been selected by a jury of three to represent the Swiss in Bodø. The jury consisted of Oliver Schnyder (a pianist), Manuel Oswald (a conductor and violinist) and Eva Oertle (a flautist and music editor at SRF Kultur). It will be the first time the Euphonium will feature at the Eurovision Young Musicians. On the selection of Valerian Alfaré, Eva Oertle had the following to say:

“Valerian impressed us greatly at the Swiss preselection with his technical skill and stage presence. We are convinced that he is ideally suited to represent Switzerland in Bodø.”
