Refresh here from 19:00 GMT/20:00 CET

Nu kör vi!!! Bjorn is back and is opening the show with the musical number, “Gravitation”. Carina joins us in a polka dot, black & white ensemble. Carina is hosting the introduction mainly in English – great for us international viewers. We now have the voting details and a run down of tonight’s artists.

The pundits are back, along with Carina questioning the artists, as well as planning Danny Saucedo’s birthday in their postcards.

Albin Tingwall – “Done Getting Over You”

Albin opens the heat with an upbeat number. He is joined by two backing dancers and they synchronise well. Vocally, you can’t fault Albin and he has the connection with both the camera and the audience. This deserves to make the flash vote next week, if not direct to the final.

Lia Larsson – “30 km/h”

Lia is bringing a quite modern sound with “30 km/h”. She is joined by four backing dancers. The interaction Lia has with the image projections on the backdrop and stage floor is quite clever. I could be wrong, but the youth are probably more likely to vote for “30 km/h”.

Dotter – “It’s Not Easy to Write You a Love Song”

Dotter is back for another try at Melodifestivalen. She starts the performance on top of a grand piano, with a slower paced song, which we don’t usually associate with her. Once she un-mounts the piano, musically it becomes a bit more upbeat. Vocally and connection wise, you can’t fault Dotter – possible finalist.

SCARLET – “Circus X”

SCARLET have brought a spooky circus show to us tonight. While quite club-esque, its also quite monotone sounding. A lot of black, white and red colourings are used in the various projections. SCARLET are joined by four backing dancers at various points. I’m really not sure how this will do with the votes.

Lasse Stefanz – “En sång om sommaren”

Lasse is bringing a country genre song, in the Swedish language. It is upbeat and has certainly got the audience engaged and clapping along. While I’m impressed with Lasse’s vocals, he is connecting with the audience and is forgetting about the camera/audience at home. The audience love it, but will the voters with the lack of connectivity?

Danny Saucedo – “Happy That You Found Me”

Danny is back for another go! “Happy That You Found Me” sounds like a storytelling song – the first in a while for Melodifestivalen. The beat picks up throughout and Danny is as animated as we are use to seeing him. You can’t fault Danny’s vocals or connectivity – surely direct to the final?

Carina is amongst the audience, however has been interrupted. Voting has finally opened! Carina is questioning the audience.

The first act through to the Final is Danny Saucedo, with his entry “Happy That You Found Me”.

The second round of voting has now opened! Voting has now closed! We now are presented with a dramatised scene. And Bjorn is back – levitating. Bjorn is less than funny. It’s time for the fourth Hall of Fame inductee of 2024. Chattanooga is live with Carina in the arena.

RESULTS! The second finalist is Dotter, while the two artists through to the flash vote at the end of the fifth heat are Albin Tingwall and SCARLET.
