For the first time in its more than 60 year history, the Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, associated disruption and threat to public health.
The unprecedented move was made earlier today by the European Broadcasting Union. See their official statement below.

To echo the words of the EBU, we understand that fans around the globe must be disappointed with the news, and we at Eurovision Ireland also feel this sadness too. We also appreciate this was an incredibly difficult decision to have to make and has been made for the right reasons.
Continue to show each other love, compassion and support in these difficult and uncertain times. Stay safe. Stay positive. Look after each other. Be kind.
