SRF, the Swiss national broadcaster conglomerate, has confirmed that they will not be participating at the 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Nice.
Switzerland have participated in the Contest once – in 2004. SRF have not broadcast any other edition of the Contest. Joanne Holder, from RSI, the Swiss-Italian regional broadcaster, had the following to say:
“The channels of the SRG conglomerate are focusing on making notable participations in the Eurovision Song Contest and therefore we will not be able to be present at the Nice Junior Eurovision Song Contest in December. The four companies that are part of our television unit have quite limited resources, which are dedicated with the aim of making programming as diverse as possible. Who knows, things may change in the next few years.”
