Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, has confirmed they will not be participating at the 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Nice.
While Finland have yet to participate in the Contest, they did broadcast the inaugural edition on Yle TV2, back in 2003. Markku Mastomäki, Yle’s Head of Children’s Programmes, had the following to say:
“Right now we have no plans to attend Junior Eurovision. As it is, we don’t have any chance to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Right now, it’s mostly a matter of resources.”
