
Last weekend, the 2023 Melodifestivalen concluded with Loreen taking victory. In this special #AtoZ or should I say #AtoÖ, we are looking at the Melodifestivalen Host Cities, since the Contest has gone on tour in 2002. Today we continue our journey around Sweden.
Karlskrona
Karlskrona has hosted Heats in 2006, 2008 & 2013, at the NKT Arena. In 2013, Yohio qualified his their entry ”Heartbreak Hotel”, with the most votes – 155,116.
Karlstad
Karlsrad has hosted Heats in 2004, 2006 & 2018, as well as Second Chance in 2013, at the Löfbergs Arena. In 2018, Benjamin Ingrosso qualified his their entry “Dance You Off”, with the most votes – 1,295,155.
Kiruna
Kiruna has hosted the Second Chance round once in 2008, at the Arena Arctica. Sibel and Nordman qualified for the Final, by winning their duels. Nordman qualified with their entry “I lågornas sken”, with the most votes – 166,735.
Kristianstad
Kristianstad has hosted the Second Chance round once in 2018, at the Kristianstad Arena. Margaret, Renaida, Felix Sandman and Méndez qualified for the Final, by winning their duels. Renaida qualified with her entry “All the Feels”, with the most votes – 884,188.
Leksand
Leksand has hosted Heats in 2006, 2009, 2012 & 2019, at the Tegera Arena. In 2019, Jon Henrik Fjällgren qualified with his entry ”Norrsken (Goeksegh)”, with the most votes – 1,112,548.
Lidköping
Lidköping has hosted Heats in 2019 & 2023, as well as Second Chance in 2014, at the Sparbanken Lidköping Arena. In 2023, Marcus & Martinus qualified their entry “Air”, with the most votes – 1,406,471.
Linköping
Linköping has hosted Heats in 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2023, as well as Second Chance in 2017, at the Saab Arena. In 2023, Maria Sur qualified her entry “Never Give Up”, with the most votes – 1,346,229.
