SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, has announced another format change to Melodifestivalen 2023.

Last year, Andra Chansen was renamed as Semi Final 5. Instead of Duels, Acts were grouped together in two groups of four, with two Acts progressing to the Final. This year, the eight Acts will all go up against each other, with four Acts progressing to the Final. Voting will still take place via the Melodifestivalen App or via the phone.

Halfway through Semi Final 5, in no particular order, the current Top 4 qualifiers will be revealed. Voting will reopen again and the results will be announced at the end of the show – age group by age group.
