For the first two Free European Song Contests, ProSieben, the German national broadcaster, were responsible for selecting the Acts that participated. German media are reporting that ProSieben are in talks with other international broadcasters to make the Contest more like the Eurovision Song Contest – broadcaster versus broadcaster.
German media are also reporting that the 2023 Contest is likely to take place in October, with it taking place in Cologne’s Lanxess Arena, the second consecutive Contest to be held there. With international broadcasters likely to be taking part, the provision of commentary facilities will be made available to them.
