
Over the course of October and November, on the lead up to the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan debuted at the Contest in 2012, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Suada Alakbarova and Omar Sultanov finished in eleventh place with their entry “Girls and Boys (Dünya Sənindir)”, scoring 49 points. This included one set of twelve points from the EBU.
The most successful entry from Azerbaijan was also their most recent entry was in 2021, when the Contest took place in Paris, France. Sona Azizova finished in fifth place with her entry “One of Those Days”, scoring 151 points.
