🇧🇾 #JESC22: Celebrating Belarus At Junior Eurovision

Over the course of October and November, on the lead up to the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Belarus.

Belarus debuted at the inaugural Contest in 2003, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Volha Satsiuk finished in fourth place with her entry “Tantsui”, scoring 103 points. This included two sets of twelve points – from Croatia and Poland.

The most successful entry from Belarus was in both 2005 and 2007. In 2005, when the Contest took place in Hasselt, Belgium, Ksenia Sitnik finished in first place with her entry “My vmeste”, scoring 149 points. This included three sets of twelve points – from Latvia, Malta and Russia.

In 2007, when the Contest took place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Alexey Zhigalkovich finished in first place with his entry “S druz’yami”, scoring 137 points. This included three sets of twelve points – from Lithuania, Malta and Portugal.

The most recent Belarusian entry was in 2020, when the Contest took place in Warsaw, Poland. Arina Pehtereva finished in fifth place with her entry “Aliens”, scoring 130 points.
