
RTP, the Portuguese national broadcaster, have confirmed their participation at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, in the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, RTP has opened the song submission period for Festival da Canção. The song submission period will close on Friday 21st October and from this, four acts will make the final twenty. The other sixteen songs will come from specially invited authors chosen by RTP.
For the open submissions, those chasing the four open spots must:
- All Portuguese citizens and residents can compete for these 4 places, including Portuguese citizens living outside Portugal, as well as citizens of other nationalities residing in Portugal.
- The reception and choice of these four songs will be carried out through the provision of demos to RTP. These demos must be made available by sending an audio file directly to the email festivaldacancao@rtp.pt and accompanied by the required data (specified in the regulation).
