
On Saturday, the 2022 Eurovision Young Musicians will be taking place from Montpellier, in France. On the lead up to the Contest, we will be looking at each of the participating countries. Today we continue with Germany.
Germany debuted at the inaugural Contest – the 1982 Eurovision Young Musicians took place in Manchester, the United Kingdom. Markus Pawlik participated with the Piano, taking first place.
Germany have won the Contest twice. Most recently, Julia Fischer took victory with the Violin, when the 1996 Eurovision Young Musicians took place in Lisbon, Portugal.
Germany last participated at the 2018 Eurovision Young Musicians, in Edinburgh, the United Kingdom. Mira Foron participated with the Violin, however failed to place in the top three.
Germany will be represented by Philipp Schupelius on Saturday, when he participates with the Cello in Montpellier.
