
Today, the 2022 UEFA Women’s European Championship continues and we will be celebrating it this year, with a Eurovision twist.
Today sees Match Day 13 and Games 23 & 24 of the tournament. Iceland will be playing France, while Italy will be playing Belgium – both from 20:00 GMT/21:00 CET. So which female Eurovision stars are we celebrating today?
Iceland – María Ólafsdóttir (2015)
María Ólafsdóttir represented Iceland at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna, Austria. She finished in the Semi Final, 15th place, with “Unbroken”.
France – Lisa Angell (2015)
Lisa Angell represented France at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna, Austria. She finished in 25th place, with “N’oubliez pas”.
Italy – Nina Zilli (2012)
Nina Zilli represented Italy at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, in Baku, Azerbaijan. She finished in 9th place, with “L’amore è femmina”.
Belgium – Laura Tesoro (2016)
Laura Tesoro represented Belgium at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, in Stockholm, Sweden. She finished in 10th place, with “What’s the Pressure?”.
