
On Saturday, the 2022 Eurovision Young Musicians will be taking place from Montpellier, in France. On the lead up to the Contest, we will be looking at each of the participating countries. Today we start with Austria.
Austria debuted at the inaugural Contest – the 1982 Eurovision Young Musicians took place in Manchester, the United Kingdom. Leonhard Kubizek participated with the Clarinet, however failed to place in the top three.
Austria have won the Contest five times. Most recently, Ziyu He took victory with the Violin, when the 2014 Eurovision Young Musicians took place in Cologne, Germany.
Austria last participated at the 2016 Eurovision Young Musicians, in Cologne, Germany. Dominik Wagner participated with the Double Bass and finished in 3rd place.
Austria will be represented by Alexander Svetnitsky-Ehrenreich on Saturday, when he participates with the Clarinet in Montpellier.
