
Today, the 2022 UEFA Women’s European Championship continues and we will be celebrating it this year, with a Eurovision twist.
Today sees Match Day 12 and Games 21 & 22 of the tournament. Switzerland will be playing The Netherlands, while Denmark will be playing Spain – both from 20:00 GMT/21:00 CET. So which female Eurovision stars are we celebrating today?
Switzerland – Francine Jordi (2002)
Francine Jordi represented Switzerland at the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest, in Tallinn, Estonia. She finished in 22nd place, with “Dans le jardin de mon âme”.
The Netherlands – Trijntje Oosterhuis (2015)
Trijntje Oosterhuis represented The Netherlands at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna, Austria. She finished in the Semi Final, 14th place, with “Walk Along”.
Sweden – Loreen (2012)
Loreen represented Sweden at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, in Baku, Azerbaijan. She finished in 1st place, with “Euphoria”.
Portugal – Leonor Andrade (2015)
Leonor Andrade represented Portugal at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna, Austria. She finished in the Semi Final, 14th place, with “Há um mar que nos separa”.
