
Today, the 2022 UEFA Women’s European Championship continues and we will be celebrating it this year, with a Eurovision twist.
Today sees Match Day 10 and Games 17 & 18 of the tournament. Northern Ireland will be playing England, while Austria will be playing Norway – both from 20:00 GMT/21:00 CET. So which female Eurovision stars are we celebrating today?
Northern Ireland (UK) – Linda Martin (1992)
Linda Martin (born in Northern Ireland) represented Ireland at the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmo, Sweden. She finished in 1st place, with “Why Me?”.
England (UK) – Jade Ewen (2009)
Jade Ewen represented the United Kingdom at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, in Moscow, Russia. She finished in 5th place, with “It’s My Time”.
Austria – Natália Kelly (2013)
Natália Kelly represented Austria at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmo, Sweden. She finished in the Semi Final, 14th place, with “Shine”.
Norway – Stella Mwangi (2011)
Stella Mwangi represented Norway at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, in Dusseldorf, Germany. She finished in the Semi Final, 17th place, with “Haba haba”.
