The 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place on Saturday 3rd December. The event was hosted at Karen Demichyan Sports and Concerts Complex by Avet Barseghyan and Gohar Gasparyan. The top 3 were:
1st: Georgia – 108 points
2nd: The Netherlands – 103 points
3rd: Belarus – 99 points
Bulgaria returned to the Contest. Malta and Serbia both withdrew from the Contest. This took the number of participating countries to thirteen.
So who was awarded the famous 12 points? Three sets of twelve points were awarded to Belarus and Georgia; two sets to Russia and The Netherlands; with one set going to Belgium, Bulgaria and Lithuania. A further set of 12 points was awarded to every country by the EBU, to avoid all countries finishing with no points.
