#JESC20: Celebrating Australia At Junior Eurovision

Over the course of November and on the lead up to the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Australia.

Australia debuted at the Contest in 2015, in Sofia, Bulgaria. Bella Paige finished in eighth place with her entry “My Girls”, scoring 64 points. This included one set of twelve points from the EBU.

The most successful entry from Australia was in both 2017 and 2018. In 2017, when the Contest took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, Isabella Clarke finished in third place with her entry “Speak Up”, scoring 172 points. This included one set of twelve points from the The Netherlands.

In 2018, when the Contest took place in Minsk, Belarus, Jael Wena finished in third place with her entry “Champion”, scoring 201 points. This included six sets of twelve points – from Belarus, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Ukraine and Wales.

The most recent Australian entry was in 2019, when the Contest took place in Gliwice, Poland. Jordan Anthony finished in eighth place with her entry “We Will Rise”, scoring 121 points. This included one set of twelve points from Russia.
