
This week in the world of the Turkvision Song Contest, we have news of debuts and other additional highlights.
2020 Debuts
Moldova will be making their debut at this year’s Contest. Pelageya Stefoglo will be representing them, however the song and the language it will be sung in has yet to be announced.
The Netherlands will be making their debut at this year’s Contest. Elcan Rzayev will be performing in Azerbaijani, his birth language, with the song “Ana-Vatan”.
Poland will be making their debut at this year’s Contest. Mishelle will be representing the nation, with the song “Doğma yerlər” – which will be sung in Azerbaijani.
Sweden will be making their debut at this year’s Contest. The Swede’s will be represented by Arghavan. The song she will sing will be “Dirçəliş” and will be performed in Azerbaijani.
Other News
Belarus will be represented by Svetlana Agarval at this year’s Contest. The song and the language it will be sung in has yet to be announced.
Northern Cyprus will be competing at this year’s Contest. Olga Shimanskaya will not be representing them as we previously reported LAST WEEK, but she will instead be representing the Russian Federation region of Moscow.
Yakutia is interested in participating at this year’s Contest. The region from within the Russian Federation has yet to choose a singer or song however. They last made the Final of the Contest in 2014.
