
Over the course of November and on the lead up to the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan debuted at the Contest in 2012, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Suada Alakbarova and Omar Sultanov finished in eleventh place with their entry “Girls and Boys (Dünya Sənindir)”, scoring 49 points. This included one set of twelve points from the EBU.
The most successful entry from Azerbaijan was in 2013, when the Contest took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. Rustam Karimov finished in seventh place with his entry “Me and My Guitar”, scoring 66 points. This included one set of twelve points from the EBU.
The most recent Azeri entry was in 2018, when the Contest took place in Minsk, Belarus. Fidan Huseynova finished in sixteenth place with her entry “I Wanna Be Like You”, scoring 47 points.
