DR have taken the decision to hold tomorrow night’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix behind closed doors after instructions set out by the Danish Prime Minister.
10,000 fans were due to gather at the Royal Copenhagen Arena tomorrow night for the show, but as the gathering is over 1,000, DR have decided to take the route they are and refund the fans for their tickets.
The Prime Minister had stated all gatherings over 1,000 people should be cancelled or delayed. As the deadline for Eurovision Song Contest 2020 entries is this forthcoming Monday, DR have probably made the only option available to them.
Over in Sweden, the Melodifestivalen Final will still be going ahead with an audience, however those feeling ill or have visited virus areas have been requested to stay at home. SVT also stated:
“If they were to come out with a directive and recommend us not to have a big event, then of course we have to relate to it. But we keep up to date with experts all the time and will be meeting continuously.”
