Today see’s the deadline for broadcasters to register participation in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. However, several countries have yet to announce whether they’ll be in Minsk or not.
Albania & Australia
Both nations took part in 2017 with differing results. Albania finished in 13th place, while Australia finished in 3rd place. Neither nation have revealed their plans for Minsk, although we will be surprised if we don’t see at least one or both of them in November.
Macedonia have seen some unhappy results in both the Eurovision Song Contest and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in the last few years. A friend of Eurovision Ireland and from the Macedonian delegation stated it was a 50:50 situation whether they’ll be in Minsk or not.
At the start of June, UA:PBC revealed to Eurovoix that they were unsure whether the nation would be participating in Minsk or not. While no decision had been made at that point, an interest in participating was still alive.
Rumours of Denmark and Spain have been doing the rounds on Social Media for the last couple of months. A friend of Eurovision Ireland and from the Montenegrin delegation has hinted at a return in Minsk.
