#ISRAEL – Jonathan Margi strikes the highest precentage on the first show of The Next Star 2018

Eurovision truely kicked off last night with the first epsiode of The Next Star 2018 – the show that selects Israel’s representative for next year’s edition of Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal.

To reach to the next stage of the competition, each act must impress a pannel of four judges and the public. Their combined vote of “YES” has to be at least 70% to advance forward.

Last night five acts qualified: Jaki Gaforov, Adva Omer, Jonathan Margi, Mor Karbasi and Netta Barzilai.

The favourite of the night was Jonathan Margi who sang “How Far I’ll Go” from the movie Moana. He managed to get the highest percentage of the night – 88% (and Yes from all 4 judges).

Not far behing followed Netta Barzilai with 82% supporting votes. She performed Rihanna‘s Rude Boy in a very original style, impressing both the judges and the audience.
