#MALTA: Details of National Final for ESC 2017

Maltese broadcaster PBS has revealed details of the selection process for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv next May.

As you’ll know, Malta is currently concentrating on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which takes place on Sunday 20 November. Stay tuned to us for coverage from Monday 14 November. However, the Mediterranean island group is a very enthusiastic member of the Eurovision family and is gunning for its for senior win.

Potential entrants have until 4pm on 30 November to submit to PBS.If a soloist, the performer must be a Maltese citizen. If the entrant is a group, the lead singer at least must be Maltese. You can find more details at the email address HERE.

Sixteen lucky participants will take part in a one-show selection sometime during February 2017. PBS will announce the final 16 in December.

Who would you like to see in the Maltese national final? Is it time for someone to represent Malta again? Or is there someone new out there you’d like to see on the Kyiv stage next May.

Malta has participated 29 times to date, and has managed to be runner-up twice. The lovely Ira Losco achieved this feat in Tallinn in 2002 with ‘Seventh wonder’, and Chiara followed her in 2005 with ‘Angel’.
